Installation Overview

Depending on your skill level there are alternate installations. If you want ONLY to use your OEM fob to press lock 3 times to activate, the install requires 1 wire to be manually interrupted.

If you want 100% plug and play, you can order the 1-way or 2-way long range remote options and skip the wire cut above. You would not need to do the wire cut above but would then need to use the new remote to start and unlock when the vehicle is running.

Automatic transmission only.
10th position of the VIN number must be an "L" or "M" or "N"
Vehicle must have normal key start ignition

A "True Plug and Play" Solution for the 2020 4runner

I was not sure why Remote Start was not standard on the 2020 Toyota 4Runner SR5 (Base). This is an option I was spoiled by. I looked around on the different 4runner forums and they all recommend the Accessorides solution. I moved forward and ordered the product first without the extended range remotes fobs. But in doing more research on the web (youtube) I saw the difficulty other people had in locating the wire to cut. Also my 4runner was brand new and thinking of cutting into wire harness was not an option I wanted to do. So via email I reached out to Accessorides and they provided me a link to with a discount code to order the extended range remote fobs (1 way version). The discount code make the extended range remote order's price just like if I ordered it all together. A few days later the remote start kit and the extended range remotes arrived.

Here is my Review:

1. A "True Plug and Play" solution
2. Installed and programmed in less than 1 hour.
3. Love it, it works perfect and as advertised
4. Upgradeable for future expansion
5. Very easy to read and understand instructions

The only true obstacle was deciding where to install the extended remote antenna. I just installed it in the headliner near the review mirror. Also I have an extra key remote to use to remote start the 4runner and unlock/lock the doors.

I recommend this product with the extended range remotes for 2020 Toyota 4runner SR5 (base) owners. Very easy to install.
